Phillip Barker is a Senior Vice President in the Seattle office of Guy Carpenter. While the entirety of his tenure has focused on advisory work, his reinsurance experience in healthcare, as well as group products, workers’ compensation and individual life, has uniquely positioned him to assist clients through these times of change.
Graduating with honors from University of Puget Sound with a double major in Mathematics and Economics, Phillip went to work at Arthur Anderson after being offered a position in their management consulting segment. Shortly after industry changing events were set into motion, eventually resulting in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, he started working with Guy Carpenter & Company.
Prior to attending college Phillip spent time commercial fishing in Alaska and logging in the northwest, gaining a first hand appreciation for the value of employee benefits and accident insurance.
