John is currently leading our project team assisting the United Nations Environment Programme – Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and a Working Group of 16 leading banks to develop a framework to assess and disclose climate-related risk factors.
The translation of climate risk factors into prospective financial performance is less understood than more traditional risk types in financial services. Helping the industry develop a methodology to measure and disclose these risks will serve to enhance overall risk management and better inform strategic capital allocation decisions. This integration of climate risk factors within existing frameworks will help underpin meaningful actions towards future sustainability.
Prior to being named Vice Chairman, John held a number of key leadership positions within Oliver Wyman. He has led the Retail and Business Banking Practice, the Corporate Strategy Practice, and served on the Management Committee.
He is a member of The Economic Club of New York, The Foreign Policy Association, the AFS-USA President’s Circle and an Advisory Board member at the Huntsman Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
John graduated magna cum laude from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also studied at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (SciencesPo) as a Rotary Foundation Scholar.
