From 2012 to 2017, he was also our South-East Asia Market Leader, leading the build-up of our multi-industry business across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. Prior to moving to Singapore, Christian held various roles in our European Financial Services business.
Christian has served a wide range of senior executives, Boards and other leaders across financial services, regulators, governments and selected companies in other industries for 15 years across Europe and Asia. He currently leads on 3 major accounts and supports senior coverage in 8-10 others. His most recent experience in the private sector has included corporate strategy, balance sheet management, planning, digitalisation and FinTech partnerships, cost management, Board effectiveness as well as most topical areas of risk management in banking. For the public sector, Christian has led several efforts on supervision, financial development and most recently the regulation of advanced models.
Christian has let several specific IP platform build-outs in Oliver Wyman. This includes non-financial risks, credit portfolio management, risks for alternative asset managers, and our ‘CFO agenda’ in Europe, as well as financial resource management and now public policy in Asia.
Christian speaks at numerous conferences each year and regularly publishes Oliver Wyman position papers. Moreover, he has published over 30 articles in trade journals / magazines and leading academic journals on topics across Risk, Financial Econometrics and Finance.
Christian joined Oliver Wyman from Cambridge University where he completed a PhD in Risk Measurement in Finance. He also holds an MPhil in Economics from Cambridge University, as well as an MSc in Mathematics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His BSc in Economics (also from LSE) was the top 1st class honours degree awarded in his year. Christian has also lectured at both these universities.
