Managing Director Chris Sykes has more than 25 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting, catastrophe reinsurance syndication, and client services. He joined Guy Carpenter in 2008, where he focuses on catastrophe risk management as part of his broader broking responsibilities.
His experience includes more than 10 years with Swiss Re in Australia and New Zealand and five years as a Chief Underwriter for North America at Reinsurance Australia Corporation. Chris was recruited by General Re in 2000 to join Gen Re Intermediaries in Connecticut as Senior Vice President. He has a proven record of client service and successful catastrophe reinsurance program placement of regional and specialty insurers.
Chris graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney, NSW Australia and holds an MBA from Auckland University, New Zealand.
