Ben Hoster

Director, Transformative Technologies, Marsh McLennan Advantage

Ben Hoster is a Director with the Marsh McLennan Advantage Insights team leading the organization’s Transformative Technologies agenda. In this role, Ben explores longer-term trends, hidden opportunities, and the unforeseen implications of rapidly evolving technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and blockchain for Marsh McLennan clients and more broadly, societies across the globe.

Over the last 20 years, Ben has advised clients primarily in the High Tech and Financial Services industries at the intersection of strategy, technology, and risk. He has experience in a variety of topics including digital transformation, analytics strategy, technology and operations risk, and various development methodologies. With a lens for practicality, Ben switches the frame from apparent roadblock to the opportunity presented by transformative technologies and helps his clients stay ahead of the competition.

As Director for Transformative Technologies – Ben provides thought leadership on a range of strategic topics, such as Digital Strategy and Transformation as well as Data and Analytics. He is also responsible for driving strategic research efforts on artificial intelligence, mobility, blockchain, cyber security, and the internet of things (IoT). In this role, he explores the intersection of technology trends, seismic shifts across industries, and imperatives for business leaders, government and risk leaders.

Prior to joining Marsh McLennan Insights, Ben led several business and technology strategy engagements with both Oliver Wyman and Infosys Consulting. He has also worked as a semiconductor engineer for Advanced Micro Devices. Ben holds a B.S. in Biochemistry as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He is based in Austin.
